The Department of Vascular Sugery

The Department of Vascular Surgery is one of the earliest established departments at Anzhen Hospital and is the largest of its kind in China. This department specializes in the treatment of peripheral vascular diseases. It has performed and succeeded in thousands of surgical and interventional procedures and maintains China’s leading rate of recovery in its class. Various peripheral arterial and venous diseases such as thoracic and abdominal aortic aneurysm (TAA, AAA), carotid (body) tumor, complicated peripheral arterial aneurysm, Takayasu’s arteritis, Budd-Chiari syndrome, renal vascular hypertension, as well as acute and chronic ischemia are included among the diseases commonly treated in this department.

The Department of Vascular Surgery also undertakes several nationally and municipally-funded key research projects, earning the department eight scientific and technological awards from different government entities. The Department of Vascular Surgery at Anzhen Hospital maintains itself as the national leader in clinical practice and scientific research.
