The Department of Respiratory Disease

    Equipped with advanced tools for diagnosis and treatment, the Department of Respiratory Diseases has taken broad steps in improving treatment of respiratory diseases in China. With 40 beds, including 6 in the respiratory ICU, the Department of Respiratory Diseases makes up a significant part of Anzhen Hospital and has helped to build the hospital’s good reputation.
    The department is equipped with a lung function and blood gas analysis laboratory, a bronchoscope laboratory, and a sleep laboratory. It has also established special clinics specifically for the treatment of asthma and sleep disorders. The Department of Respiratory Diseases at Anzhen Hospital has rich experience in diagnosis and treatment of infectious lung diseases, airway diseases such as bronchitis and asthma, pulmonary interstitial fibrosis, lung cancer, pleural diseases such as pleural effusion and pneumothorax, pulmonary vascular diseases such as pulmonary thrombotic embolism and pulmonary hypertention, respiratory sleep disorders, and many other respiratory conditions.
    The department has successfully rescued over 10,000 patients. Over time, the department’s success rate for emergency care for massive pulmonary thrombotic embolism, acute and chronic respiratory failure, and severe asthma has taken the leading position in the country.
