The Department of Cardiac Surgery at Anzhen Hospital is a powerful team of specialized professionals who have gained an excellent reputation, both home and abroad. All of the current directors of the department are renowned experts, each of whom have each studied abroad and worked in the specialty for over 20 years. Consisting of 260 beds, the Department of Cardiac Surgery performs various kinds of cardiovascular operations, including complicated procedures to fix complicated congenital heart diseases, valvular disease, coronary heart disease, cardiac tumors, and great vessel diseases.
The department’s advancement is internationally recognized and leads the nation and in the area of mini-invasive operations, which include complete arterial bypass grafting (CABG), artery-vein sequential anastomosis bypass grafting, open intracardiac radio-frequency ablation for atrial fibrillation, valvuloplasty and restoration, gigantic cardiac valve replacement, interventricular semptum perforation prosthesis after acute myocardial infarction, ROSS operations, etc.The department performs about 3000 operations per year, about a third of which are CABG. Their success rate is maintained at about 98%, ranking it number one in the country for cardiac surgery.
